Having a magnifying lamp around makes things a lot easier and faster, whether it is your job or things you do during your free time.

When choosing a magnifier lamp, it is important that you choose one that suits your taste and demands. Magnifier lamps are available in three different types dependent upon the dimensions of your table – base lamp, clamp lamp and floor-standing lamp.

If you constantly change position while at work, then a base lamp is for you. As much as it is being useful, this type is usually the most expensive among other types of light fixtures. A base lamp consumes too much space on your working desk and because changing its position requires you to hold it firmly by both hands; you will be forced to put on hold the very thing you are doing currently.

Next on the list of expensive lamps are the clamp lamps. These are lamps attached to your pc or reading desk using a clamp or screws. Its extended floating arms can give you a clearer view once its stand is attached to the table. These models are mostly used by professionals because they are more accurate and are easy to adjust.

Floor-standing magnifier lamps are the best choice for someone who spends less time working on the table or someone who would want to consume the entire space on the table while working. This type of magnifier lamps is preferred usually by professionals who seek high clarity of magnification and well-lighted views including dentists, physicians and marketing experts.

Generally, these lighting fixtures are built in hard steel that have easily counterbalancing joints and several springs to ensure effortless calibration. Lenses are made of high quality optical glasses with almost zero reflecting capability and dissemination. The most crucial things you should consider prior to acquiring such a magnifier lamp are the type of glass used, light bulb and the mechanical parts.

The standard diameter of a magnifier glass is usually around five or six inches. Sharp quality lenses reduce the amount of stress in your eyes. For someone who regularly works excessively during daytime, getting lamps with better-quality grades would be the best option.

The magnifier style lamp use different kind of bulbs – from incandescent to halogen and LED lights to fluorescents as well as full spectrum bulbs. Nowadays using incandescent bulbs is really not as common anymore because lamps should be positioned closely to your face for a clearer sight causing irritation to your eyes. For artists, a magnifier glass with full spectrum bulbs is a perfect choice in ensuring the quality of the colors used in their work.

Mechanical parts contribute to the light fixture’s proper balance, making the magnifier glass easy to use. The lens is easy to place if the caliber springs and the joints are of superior quality. The fixture is less likely to move when you place it if the production is uneven.

A magnifying desk lamp is the perfect accessory for every homeowner. It can be easily complemented by clamp on desk lamps that need no additional support at the table.
